people, I didn't take enough shots as I went along, and later regretted that a
lot.

Very
early days – March 1983. First bits get assembled onto chassis –
1200cc Herald on Burlington’s new ladder chassis. Frame at the
back is where the petrol tank will go |

Summer
1983 - starting to look a bit like a car. The heavy reliance on
plywood is clear - the front panels have been painted. Later, they
were skinned in aluminium and the rear in leathercloth. |

Christmas
1983. First movement under engine power! My Mum behind,
wondering why on earth I'd bother... Rather a dark picture, but it
was mid winter in between rain showers. |
